Why is "Human" not on the album? Why wasn't "Here's My Hello" the debut single?

Putting all hyperbole aside, "Human" is by far the best song on this album and it's iTunes exclusive. How could they make such a dumb mistake in the production of this album to not include "Human" on the CD? Were they afraid it wasn't distinct enough from Maroon 5? People like this sound, it is popular now, the song sounds great and the beatboxing makes it distinct enough from Maroon 5.

Okay that's the biggest problem I have with the marketing and production of this album. The next biggest problem was the decision to not lead off with "Here's My Hello" as the debut single. Did you simply not see what happened with Daughtry and "It's Not Over" in 2005? "Here's My Hello" is a stand out song on this album and it would get major play on dance stations like KTU in New York. The lyrics also work well for a debut song: "Here's my hello don't say goodbye." Think Eminem with his debut "Hi My Name Is." Here's My Hello would have been a great introduction to a new artist. The promoters of this album should be going heavily after the dance stations with the S*A*M & Sluggo tracks which are the only really good tracks on this album. I feel like this album could have been a much bigger hit if you had focused more attention on Human and Here's My Hello.

Yes I was a fan of Blake's performances on AI, but there is too much 80's synth throw back on this album. We saw some hints of it in his Idol performances doing stuff like The Cure. I think more stuff along the lines of Human (similar to Maroon 5) marketed to Top 40 stations like Z100 and dance stuff similar to Here's My Hello marketed to Dance music stations like KTU would have made for a much more successful debut for this artist.

I'm getting a bit tired of seeing American Idol runner-ups undersell because of poor marketing/production decisions. Runner ups like Blake Lewis and Katherine McPhee should be doing well in the music business, but they're not because A.) they are putting out the wrong singles off of these albums and B.) they are not making the right types of albums for these artists.
